RV PRODUCTS AND SERVICE
Although RVers Online is and intends to remain a non-commercial public service site for the benefit of RVers, from time to time we do intend to recognize commercial services or products which we think may be of interest to our readers based on our personal experience. We have no connection with any of the products reviewed, and we don't offer these reviews as endorsements. But we think they justify our readers' attention.
- FINAL "REPORT CARD": In our initial "Report Card", done after three months of ownership of our Host Camper, we projected that after we'd used it for a full year we'd update our impressions of the unit. We hadn't anticipated we'd be essentially full timing in a camper -- but we did. We review our final impressions of the Host unit here.
- HOST CAMPER: When we decided to acquire a slide-in camper unit, we looked at several brands, eventually settling on a unit built by Host Industries, a relatively new and small manufacturer located in Bend, Oregon. We had occasion to live in the unit full time for several months, and provide our "Report Card" on this innovative new product.
- THE POWER SHOP: In this case "power" refers to ways to get more out of your RV or tow vehicle's engine. These folks, located in Enumclaw, WA (greater Seattle area) are well worth the extra time and distance that may be involved if you want an absolutely first rate experience installing aftermarket packages such as from Gale Banks Engineering; or in a variety of other packages such as exhaust brakes for your tow vehicle. Outstanding service at fair prices by highly competent service techs.
- SMARTIRE (TM) Many motorhome owners will find the process of checking and managing tire pressures to be a challenge. We tested one of the aftermarket products which has the capability of providing a continuous monitoring of the pressure and temperature of each of a motorhome's six tires -- and of providing that information instantly and conveniently on the motorhome's dash. We think it's an important issue of safety.
- RV SUNSHADES: Throughout Snowbird country one frequently finds motorhomes with the front (and often front/side) windows covered with a mesh material to reduce heat and glare. What we've noticed, however, is that all too often they are not fitted properly. We're sure there are other qualified sunshade makers out there, but surely this enterprise is among the top choices.
- BULLSEYE: In our view the best option in portable dish mounts, "Bullseye" offers the ultimate in stability and flexibility.
- PYROMID While this may sound like an advertisement, we offer this information about a wonderful product for RVers that has served our purposes for many years. Particularly important for smaller RVs: Ever wonder how to deal with the storage problems of taking a barbeque that can really handle big chores? Or what kind of a compact unit won't burn out quickly? Here's the answer! (website)
- 2000 COUNTRY COACH INTRIGUE: After an an extensive search for a new Class A diesel pusher, we decided upon this unit as the most suitable for our intended future RVing needs. We publish here what we refer to as our "Report Card" on this unit.
- Davis Cabinets: Many RVers will find they'd like to add to or customize some of their original cabinetry. Here's the place we recommend be considered when quality and craftmanship is the objective.
- Lassen RV Our experience in purchasing a slide-in camper unit from Lassen RV in Albany, OR, was such that we think it appropriate to include this RV dealer in our list of recommended products and services.
