This checklist is intended for field use on the day of delivery.  With two copies you will 
have one for your records and one to give the dealer of repairs needed before 
signing any paperwork.  This is designed for a Diesel Pusher Motorhome

Pull drawers all the way out several times.  Try to open them like
road vibration would.  Ck. For water leaks and make sure wires
and pipes are fastened securely.  Ck. The lining to see that it is 
attached securely.

    Wall Coverings:  Ck. All coverings to insure joints meet.  
Ck. For nicks, scratches, tears.  Order extra fabric, carpet and

        Operational Test of Home Systems
    Generator: Learn how to start & stop generator.  Know where  
the remote stations are located and how they work.  Start the
generator and listen for unusual noises or vibrations.  
Understand any power relays and test incoming ac power prior
to cutting through.  Ck. The electrical status panel.  Put load on
generator by running microwave, turn on and off all ac powered
lights.  Leave generator running.

    Inverter/converter/charger:  Understand the operation.  Have
PDI person explain the function of all controls, displays, lights.
Ck. That house batteries are being charged.  Now shut down 
generator.  Leave inverter in on position.  Ck. To see that inverter
took over all ac voltages.  Test by turning on microwave for a 
minute.  Turn on TV and leave on for rest of inspection.

    Water Pump:  Insure that fresh water tank has water.  Turn on
pump and listen for pump to start.  After pump stops open faucet
and let run till pump starts then close faucet.  Ck. For noisy, 
vibrating or making irrating sounds.

    Water Heater:  Test operation on propane.  Test operation on
ac.  With no shore power and generator off you should see the
dc lights dim.  Turn off water heater when done.

    Furnace:  Understand the operation of the thermostat as it 
relates to heating and cooling.  Ck. The operation of the furnace.
You should have heat coming from all vents after a few minutes.
Ck. For the smell of material getting hot or exhaust.

    LP,Carbon Monoxide, Smoke Alarms:  Have PDI person test
each one of these items and explain how you can test them.
If one of these alarms fails this test, stop and make them fix
before continuing as these are life savers.

    Refrigerator: Understand the controls and status lights.  
Set unit to propane and ck. Outside to see that heating column
is lit and heating.  Set temperature to highest setting and come
back and see if coils are cooling after about 10 min.

    TV VCR Antenna & Swithing:  Test the switching system that
allows viewing of channels on front and back TV's.  Test the 
raising, lowering and rotating of the TV antenna system.  If you
have DSS satellite system test it out.  Understand the operation
of all remotes.

    Air Conditioners:  Start the generator and verify that the ac 
control system switches the ac over to the coach.  Ck. That the
inverter switched to charging mode.  After generator has settled
down turn on Front AC after a few minutes cool air should be 
coming out vents.  Turn on back AC and after a few minutes cool
air should be coming out.  Switch both unit over to heat mode
and ck. For heat after a few minutes.  Insure that air comes from
all vents. Leave running.

    Air Vents:  Ck. The operation of both kitchen and bath vents.
Ck. That both vents close and retract tightly.

    Microwave:  With both AC's running heat cup of water for 3
minutes.  Generator should hold strong and water should be hot.
Ck. For unusual sounds from microwave.

    Propane Stove:  Ck. Operation of one burner while microwave
is still running.  Turn on other burners and note if there is
adequate propane flow to burners.  NOTE: whether AC interferes
with there operation.  Operate the oven.

 Vehicle Operating Test
Pass Fail Before doing any of the following tests do a quick walk
around coach to check clearance in all directions.
Cockpit
    Test each control for seats and mirrors.
    Test adjustment of steering wheel.
Have PDI person explain anything you don’t fully understand.

Instrumentation
    Turn on Ignition but don’t start motor.
    Test each gauge and know what their normal operating range is.
    Ck. All lights and alarms.
    Ck. Rear monitor and test all its controls.
Have PDI person explain fully how each control and light operates
and what they mean.

Start Engine
    Wait till "Wait to Start" light goes out.
    Start vehicle (it should start within 2 to 4 seconds)
    Ck. Oil pressure is within normal range.(no oil pressure shutdown
now.)
    Ck. Voltage gauge (should read 13.2 volts)
    Ck. Air pressure gauge (should come up to 120 psi and remain
steady.)
    Ck. That all warning lights have went out.

Dash Air & Heating
    Test dash AC and related vents
    Test dash heat and related vents
    Test dash mounted fans if so equipped.

Air System Test
    Test air suspension system
Have PDI person fully explain how this is done on your coach.
    Test air leveling system.
Have PDI person fully explain how this is done on your coach.
    Test Emergency brake
With Emergency brake applied put in drive and try to pull forward
1200rpm coach should not move.  Put back in Park.
    Test Braking
Release emergency brake and pull forward slowly and apply 
brakes firmly.  Coach should stop immediately.  Reset
emergency brake.  Pump brakes repeatedly till air pressure 
drops to 90psi.
    Ck. That air recovers to 120psi.
Turn off vehicle.
    Pump brakes till warning beeper sounds between 90psi & 60psi
If any of these tests fail don’t drive vehicle till fixed…

Hydraulic Brakes
    Apply Parking brake and put in drive, apply lightly on throttle.
Coach should not move at all.

If everything in vehicle Operating Test
is checked pass you are ready to take it out for
test drive.  If anything is checked fail then have it
fixed first.
Road Test
    Ck. Handling and steering wheel movement needed to maintain
lane.
    Ck. For noises from engine, transmission, flapping awnings.
    Ck. Engine brake operation.
    Ck. Instrumentation for normal readings.
    Ck. For road noises, vibrations and wind noises around door.
    Camp at factory or dealers lot over night to test living facilities
and to allow any needed repairs to be done.
